attendance

To address problems with chronic absenteeism, students in grades K-12 who accumulate 18 or more absences, whether deemed excused or unexcused, are by definition “chronically absent” and will not be allowed to participate in non-academic school activities (e.g., prom, in-school games, dances, field trips, and field days). Doctor’s notes and health plans will be taken in to consideration when reviewing status for participation in non-academic school activities only when a student has not accumulated 3 or more unexcused absences.
